Hello, I’m Rachael. I make 3D needle felted pets by hand in Wallasey, on the Wirral, each one from photos of someone’s much-loved dog, cat or other animal.

Where it started
I’ve always had animals. In 2020 I lost my dog, and I wanted a keepsake to remember her by, so I made her in wool. That first felt was the start of Felted Fluffy Friends.
It’s why memorial keepsakes mean so much to me. A felted friend is a memory you can see, and helping someone keep a pet they’ve lost close by is my favourite part of what I do. Crafting is my passion, and every commission, whether it’s a birthday surprise or a keepsake, gets the same care.
These days I share my home with a dog, two cats and a snake, with more on the way.
How I work
Every felted friend is made the traditional way, shaped by hand from wool with a barbed felting needle.
Each jab of the barbed needle tangles the wool fibres a little tighter, until soft, loose wool slowly firms up into shape.
I build a firm shape first, then layer coloured wool over it to match their coat, their markings and the little quirks you love.
Getting every ear, paw and marking right is slow, careful work, so allow around a week for yours, a little longer at busy times or for more detailed pets.
